The
Crescent Chronicles, Book 1
Genre: Mature YA/New Adult
Paranormal Romance
Number of pages: 250
Book Description:
Sometimes you just have to take
flight.
A summer in New Orleans is
exactly what Allie needs before starting college. Accepting her dad’s
invitation to work at his hotel offers an escape from her ex-boyfriend and the
chance to spend the summer with her best friend. Meeting a guy is the last
thing on her mind—until she sees Levi.
Unable to resist the infuriating
yet alluring Levi, Allie finds herself at the center of a supernatural society
and forced to decide between following the path she has always trusted or
saving a city that might just save her.
The Interview:
The Interview:
1. What inspired you to write paranormal YA?
I love reading
paranormal romance, so I decided to write my own. I was inspired by my experiences as a college
student in New Orleans. I always felt that if the supernatural really existed
in our world, they’d be in New Orleans.
2. What kind of beings can we find in your book?
You can expect to
find a variety of shifters, most specifically the Pterons. They’re a powerful type of shifter that I
can’t tell you more about until you’ve read Flight.
3. Open Flight to any page and tell us what is happening.
Page 149 (print edition)
Hailey and Allie have
just arrived at a warehouse party. Allie’s
a little nervous because she knows the bouncers aren’t human—and most of
the people at the party won’t be.
4. What are some of your favorite YA authors?
I love so many! Some
of my favorites include Jennifer Snyder, J.A. Templeton, and A.R. Ivanovich.
5. What do you do when you are not writing?
I’m the mother of two
young children (a 3 ½ year old and a 1 year old), and they keep me busy most of
the time!
Thoughts...
The voice of this book is the first thing that will grab you. So will the banter back and forth between the two main characters. Levi and Allie are characters you grow to love and care about and the twist at the end is one I never saw coming. It was filled with all the elements of a great story: POV from a character you identify with, the cover art was very compelling (yes, art matters...) and the action and dialogue were right on. This story has some original paranormal elements that I found interesting and am excited to read the second book in the series next year.
