Happy Fall-ow Friday! Welcome back to the Bookpile, and for any new friends dropping in, a big hug and hello! Check out the three (yes, three)giveaways going on right now. Two of them only have a couple more days to go, so enter now while you still can!
Q. If you could change the ending of any book (or series), which book would you choose? Why and to what?
A. I hate to say it, but Mockingjay is my answer for this one. I absolutely did not like the ending. It was just too wrapped up and tidy. There was such a build in the other two books and then an utter let down at the end. I would make the conflict build to an even greater degree and have some kind of greater confrontation between the boys. Katniss just ends up being a mom and waltzes into the future. The kind of world that has been created doesn't lend itself to that kind of ending.
This is a great answer! I totally agree! New follower!!

it could've been better, but it's a good ending for me :)

A lot of people seem to have a beef with Mockingjay's ending. I'm kinda feeling relieved that I haven't read it!

I have not read this series yet. Good answer. Something different than all the rest of these books.

Have a nice weekend :)
I haven't read the book yet. I don't think I'd want to change ANY ending...even if I didn't like it. :-)

I figured a lot of people would pick Mockingjay for this one. :) I actually really liked it, even though I would have liked a little more detail at the end.
ReplyDeletehave a good weekend!
I chose Mockingjay too! I was just so disappointed in the way it ended, and I had loved the other two so much...I felt let down. Great answer!

I liked Mockingjay, but I was expecting more out of it at times as well. I wanted to see more confrontation between the boys too, and find out what happened to Gale. I didn't think it was fitting how he just disappeared. Nice answer! Feel free to check out my FF here. Returning follower!
ReplyDeleteRumana @ Relook the Book
I loved Mockingbird, but the ending was too nice and neat...AND depressing. I felt it lacked the emotion I expected from the characters. The Gale from earlier on wouldn't have let her go without putting up a fight...even knowing he screwed up.
ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower, but I wasn't sure which GFC widget to use, since you have two.
